Dr. Richard A Friedman MD, a native of Mobile, AL has been treating patients in the Fairhope area since 2017. Serving as the Stroke Medical Director of Thomas Hospital since 2021, he has been instrumental in the formation of the Stroke Program at Thomas and their designation as a JCAHO certified Primary Stroke Center in 2024. There, he maintains the program as well as an active appointment as a Neurology preceptor for aspiring doctors and medical residents. Dr. Friedman continues to advance the science of stroke through clinical trials.

Upon graduation from University of South Alabama College of Medicine in 2013, Dr. Friedman studied under physicians at UAB, Tulane, Ochsner, and LCMC health in New Orleans via Tulane University General Neurology Residency Program before returning to his hometown of Fairhope, AL where he has maintained a private practice since 2017, treating thousands of patients over nearly a decade of service to the local community.
